We wrote this policy as a series of questions you might actually ask — with straight answers. No legalese, no 8,000-word walls of text. If something is still unclear, email us and we'll explain it.
What data do you collect?
We collect information you voluntarily provide — your name, email address, phone number, company name, and details about your financing needs when you fill out our contact form or call us.
Our website also collects basic analytics data: pages visited, time on site, referring source, browser type, and approximate geographic location (city level, not street address).
We use cookies for this — more on that below.
Why do you collect this data?
Two reasons.
First, to respond to your inquiries and evaluate potential lending relationships — we can't assess your needs without knowing who you are and what you're looking for.
Second, to understand how people use our website so we can improve it.
We don't collect data for advertising, and we never sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
Do you share my information with anyone?
Only when necessary to provide our services — for example, with legal counsel during loan documentation, with credit reporting agencies if you proceed to a formal application, or with regulatory bodies as required by Canadian law (including the Autorité des marchés financiers and FINTRAC for anti-money-laundering compliance).
We never share your information with data brokers, advertisers, or any party unrelated to your lending relationship with us.
What about cookies?
We use essential cookies (required for the website to function) and analytics cookies (Google Analytics, to understand traffic patterns).
You can decline analytics cookies using the banner that appears when you first visit the site, and the site will work just fine without them.
We don't use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social media tracking scripts.
How do you protect my data?
All data transmitted through our website is encrypted using TLS (the padlock in your browser's address bar).
Contact form submissions are delivered to our team via encrypted email.
Financial documents submitted during the loan application process are stored in our SOC 2-compliant document management system with role-based access controls — meaning only the team members working on your file can access your documents.
How long do you keep my information?
Contact form submissions: 24 months from the date of submission, or longer if they lead to an active lending relationship.
Loan application files: For the duration of the lending relationship plus 7 years, as required by Canadian financial record-keeping regulations.
Analytics data: 26 months (Google Analytics default retention period).
You can request deletion of your contact information at any time by emailing [email protected].
What are my rights?
Under Quebec's Law 25 (Loi 25) and Canada's PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access your personal information held by us
- Request corrections to inaccurate data
- Request deletion (subject to regulatory retention requirements)
- Withdraw consent for non-essential data collection at any time
